Biography
For over 15 years, Dan Ross has practiced exclusively in damages quantification, business valuations and forensic accounting matters encompassing a broad range of industries including pharmaceuticals, energy, manufacturing, financial services, retail and others. Dan’s work primarily involves the quantification of economic damages in complex litigation cases and international commercial arbitrations involving breach of contract, post-acquisition disputes, intellectual property infringement and other commercial matters. He has also prepared valuations of business and security interests pursuant to shareholder disputes and acquisitions.
Dan has prepared and assisted in the preparation of numerous expert reports and affidavits for the Federal Court of Canada, Ontario Superior Court of Justice and commercial arbitrations, and appeared as an expert witness in the Federal Court and other trial proceedings.
Dan has worked as a professional accountant for over 25 years, including his previous experience in the banking and insurance industries where he specialized in corporate valuation and finance. In addition to his practical experience, Dan has written articles in numerous legal and accounting publications, including the Journal of Business Valuation. He has also frequently presented at industry seminars and professional conferences on the subjects of damages quantification and business valuation.
