Biography
For over 30 years, Peter Steger has practiced exclusively in damages quantification, business valuations and forensic accounting. He has prepared numerous expert reports and affidavits and has given expert witness testimony in the Federal Court of Canada, the Ontario, Quebec, and Manitoba courts, the High Court of Singapore, and in international (ICC, UNCITRAL) and domestic arbitrations. His mandates have covered a wide range of industries including manufacturing, resources, technology, financial services, pharmaceuticals, retail, real estate, and sports franchises.
Peter has been featured as a leading Forensic Accountant and Quantum Expert in Who’s Who Legal for 2015-2022, as well as one of Canada’s top cross-border expert witnesses in the Lexpert/American Lawyer annual guides. He is frequently retained on complex disputes involving damages claims of $10 million to $100+ million involving major contract disputes, intellectual property claims, and class actions. He also has extensive experience in financial investigations and in obtaining and executing Anton Piller orders and Mareva injunctions in civil fraud matters.
