Valuation of Profits Earned on Housing Development

CHS was retained to provide an expert report in a shareholder dispute that required an expert independent accounting opinion on the amount of profit earned on a certain housing development.  The profit determination was necessary to determine the buyout valuation of one of the shareholders. 

We participated in the mediation proceedings among the shareholders and testified as an expert at trial.  The file required the assessment of a number of accounting issues and detailed analysis of the accounting records including the determination of profit per house and the accounting issues with regard to allocation of costs. 

Ultimately, our opinion was used for purposes of determining the business value of one of the owner’s shareholdings. The matter required significant analysis of issues related to profit determination and project accounting.
