Arbitrator Appointments
Overview
In recent years there has been a movement away from Court actions and towards the use of Alternative Dispute Resolution, both in Canada and internationally. Arbitrations and mediations allow the parties to choose their mediator or adjudicator, and to a large extent, set down the timing and rules to be followed. In addition, there are numerous organizations throughout the world that provide guidelines and model formats to use. Efficiencies in effort and costs can be achieved, without losing the benefits of the litigation process.
CHS has been involved in many domestic and international arbitrations and mediations. We have acted in different roles, from our traditional expert witness role, to being appointed as Mediator and Arbitrator. Given our expertise, we are very well qualified to be involved in cases that require the valuation of a business, the quantification of economic damages and/or forensic investigations.
